Welcome to Main Street

Temporary photo of main streetWe don't reckon your gonna need a map, but we wanted to give you an official "Howdy" to the Flying W Guest Ranch. Our signs will pretty well tell you how to find things, or just ask any of the locals--that would be the folks on horseback with the big hats.

We've set up our town to give you a pretty good idea of the way things look around 1890.

In addition to the stores and shops, you'll spot things like our 1912 Wheeler Windmill over by the barn. Down the street, look for the original 1885 Chuckwagon. Yup, we still use it for cook-offs to this day.

Wagons and Buggys from the 1880s line Main Street at the Flying W Frontier Town and Guest RanchNot much new around here, but there's sure plenty of great old stuff--furniture, saddles, paintings, tools, glassware, snowshoes, wagons, buggies, and a pretty remarkable collection of hearses and classic automobiles.

We're just telling you all this so you can plan to spend a little time with us. The Flying W isn't a "Git and Go" like you find on the Interstate. You'll want to enjoy a fine meal at Sassy's Cafe, then take in a trail ride before you start through the General Store and the Museum. We've got cabins, teepees, and RV hookups if you'd like to stay a while longer.

Guests stop to hear a yarn or two from one of our local cowboys at the Flying W Guest Ranch and Frontier Town.If you've been here before, it's time you came back. The Photo Parlor is setting up with film, and we're moving in a Jail House solid enough for even your kids. (Sorry, you gotta take em with you when you leave.)

Of course, every town has to have a good Blacksmith Shop, and our's is one of the best for miles around. We've also got a real pretty little Church, and chances are you may see a real wedding taking place there now and then.

And up the Board Walk, you'll come to the Town Hall. Now like all Town Halls of the old west, this building becomes the meeting place for lots of folks. Corporate banquets, Club meetings, and all kinds of social groups rent this hall to relive their part in the wild west.

Oh yea, don't miss those two 1880's cattle cars at the end of the street, and be sure you catch us for a real live Rodeo, right here on the Flying W.

Thanks for dropping in. If you enjoy yourself, tell your friends. If you've got a problem, tell us. We'll fix it.

Your new best friends,

The Whinery's
